Cultivating Fellowship exists to help believers intentionally cultivate deeper fellowship with the Father, through the Son, by the Holy Spirit, through daily rhythms of Scripture, prayer, worship, reflection, and obedience.
What is this all about?
For a very long time I have wanted to become more intentional about spending time with the Lord. Every time I try to
reestablish the habit I once had of reading the Word and meeting with God regularly, I fail.
Everything else crowds in to take priority. There's always something "more important" to do, except, there actually isn't...
I know that spending time with the Father is the most important thing I can do in a day, and that if I don't dedicate the time to seeking Him and listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit, then my day invariably will be much less than it could have been.
There is something essential missing from my life when I am not meeting with Him regularly, so after a particularly challenging
sermon at Church, I decided to see if I could start creating a framework that would help me to get back to what I should be doing.
Time with the Father should be non-negotiable, but I knew I needed help to get back up and running again.
SOMETIMES THE HARDEST PART OF GETTING MOVING AGAIN WHEN YOU HAVE FALLEN, IS ACTUALLY GETTING BACK UP AGAIN!
I have been learning how to build interactive spreadsheets, so I set about starting to design something that I hoped might help me get back up and get back to having a regular quiet-time.
I get very excited when I create things that work by themselves, so I wanted to make the spreadsheet as autonomous as possible so that my time is spent focusing on reading the Word and listening to the Holy Spirit.
So my journey began to start designing something that would work personally for me. But as things started to progress I realised that the framework that was emerging was more exciting than I had imagined and that it was starting to become something that could not only really help me, but also others wanting the same outcome.
The spreadsheet is nowhere near done and continues to get many tweaks as I try and create something that makes my quiet-time easier and more accessible. If it makes things more complicated, then it completely defeats the object of trying to make my time with God something that I want to do and look forward to doing regularly.
